02 // About

A production studio built for outcomes.

Campus Reels exists to give mission-driven organizations the one asset that still stops a scroll: honest, cinematic footage of real people doing real things.

  • Who

    A founder-led film crew.

Two directors, one producer's mindset. Every project is scoped, shot, and cut by the founders who pitched it. Minor tasks may be delegated when it serves the schedule, but the founders stay involved through every step of production.

  • Where

    Dallas-based, working nationwide.

Home base is Plano, TX with active production across Dallas–Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston. We travel for shoots anywhere in the U.S. and internationally.

  • What

Cinematic 4K for organizations with a mission.

We make hero films, event recaps, recruitment videos, donor stories, and platform-native cutdowns for universities, nonprofits, startups, and enterprises. Every deliverable is scoped around an outcome — applications, pledges, pipeline — not a shot count.

Every frame is handled with the care of a filmmaker and the precision of a growth partner.

Concepting, directing, shooting, sound, color, motion graphics, and platform-native cutdowns all happen under one roof. No subcontractor telephone game, no surprise line items, no waiting three weeks for a revision.

03 // What We Fix

The problems we actually solve.

Every project starts with a real business or mission problem — not a shot list. These are the four we hear most.

  • Low Engagement

Static PDFs, dry web copy, and B-roll montages get scrolled past. We build story-first films that stop the thumb and hold attention through the CTA.

  • Budget Pressures

You need broadcast quality on a nonprofit or higher-ed budget. Our two-founder crew keeps overhead low so every dollar you spend ends up on screen.

  • Fragmented Storytelling

A hero film here, a social clip there, a donor deck somewhere else — all off-brand. We deliver a single narrative cut into every format your channels need.

  • Complex Stakeholders

Deans, donors, comms, legal, and marketing — all with edits. Our process bakes in review checkpoints so approvals move fast and no one gets surprised at delivery.

// What clients say

More than video — we capture the imagination.

  • DJ met with me in January 2025. I shared with him a vision of an interactive, engaging and educational experience with technology, entrepreneurs and real-world demonstrations of emerging tech. Campus Reels ‘saw’ the vision and made it even better — from digital twins, interactive avatars, video production and more. We’re thrilled to have their team supporting our Tech Career initiatives to help tell the story and capture the imagination.

  • Campus Reels does an incredible job of capturing stories, not just moments. We invited their team to document The Melville Family Foundation’s scholar visit to the Lexus Headquarters, and they exceeded every expectation. The photos and video beautifully captured the energy, excitement, and impact of the day in a way we couldn’t have imagined. If you’re looking for a creative team that is professional, talented, and truly knows how to bring your vision to life, I can’t recommend Campus Reels enough. They don’t just create content — they tell stories that leave a lasting impression.

05 // Signature Services

Nine packages, one studio.

Every engagement starts with an outcome — applications, pledges, pipeline, or press — and gets matched to one of the productized packages below.

06 // Process

Discover to Amplify.

A six-step pipeline your whole team can point to. Review rounds and approval gates are baked in — no one gets surprised at delivery.

  1. 01

    Discover

We start with the goal, not the gear. A short call maps the audience, deadline, and vision this project needs to deliver.

  2. 02

    Design

Creative treatment, shot list, schedule, and interview guide land in your inbox before anyone picks up a camera — so nothing is improvised on the day.

  3. 03

    Capture

A small, fast crew shoots 4K cinema, gimbal, and licensed drone coverage without turning your campus into a film set.

  4. 04

    Craft

Edit, color, sound design, and motion graphics in-house, with two review rounds built into the timeline as standard.

  5. 05

    Deploy

Hero film plus platform-native cutdowns, captions, and thumbnails — organized in a shareable folder and ready to publish, not a raw drive dump.

  6. 06

    Amplify

We keep the source library so next quarter's assets cost a fraction of the first shoot — and we'll put together a posting plan upon request.

08 // Founders

Two people, on every shoot.

The founders lead every project from pitch to delivery. Minor production tasks may be handed off when it helps the schedule, but the founders stay on the shoot and in the edit.

Portrait of Djakhangir (DJ) Zakhidov, Founder · Executive Director, Campus Reels
Founder

Djakhangir (DJ) Zakhidov

Founder · Executive Director

Born in Uzbekistan, raised cross-culturally, and now rooted in Texas, DJ is a creative visionary with a deep passion for storytelling and emerging technologies. From an early age he was drawn to science fiction — a genre that opened his imagination to what the future could look like. That curiosity grew alongside the rapid evolution of technology he witnessed firsthand: from Walkmans to CarPlay, from film to digital, and from early video game consoles to immersive virtual worlds.

After earning a Bachelor's in Film and a Master of Fine Arts, DJ joined the University of Texas at Dallas, where he rose to become the Director of the Center for Simulation and Synthetic Humans. There, he led cutting-edge research into simulation and training technologies — blending creativity, design, and data to shape how people learn and interact.

At the same time, he discovered video as his ideal medium: a way to translate complex scientific, academic, and technical ideas into stories that connect, inspire, and resonate. Whether he's designing a training simulator, directing a shoot, or cutting a documentary, DJ's mission is the same — make complexity relatable and impactful.

Co-Founder · Creative Director · AI Director

Kyamran is a multifaceted creative focused on exploring the impact of emerging technologies on society and human behavior. He is a seasoned gimbal camera and drone operator, a talented editor, and a restless perfectionist.

He shines in the short-form narrative space — an expert at creating promotional, commercial, and informational content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Kyamran is not only a creative professional but also a tech evangelist on a quest to research, design, and help develop the visualization technologies of the future.
